Eloisa
Project 1
Eloisa’s Project 1 was created in response to the starting point ‘Inside/Outside’. She explored the contrast between how individuals present themselves externally and how they may truly feel internally. Choosing to specialise in photography, Eloisa experimented with a range of techniques to communicate this concept visually, including the layering, manipulation and distortion of portraiture. As the project developed, she began to explore how her photographic imagery could be transformed further through the introduction of other fine art processes and materials, including painting, printmaking and drawing.
“I wanted to explore how a person’s outward expression of themselves, particularly their facial expressions, represented their inner feelings”

Project 2
Eloisa’s Project 2 was created in response to the starting point ‘Connections’. She approached the theme by considering the different ways in which people connect with the world around them. As the project developed, her focus shifted towards the relationship between humans and nature. Eloisa experimented with a wide range of media and processes, including painting, drawing, printmaking and photography, to explore how this connection could be represented visually. Through her experimentation and artist research, she became particularly interested in working with transparent surfaces, layering imagery to create three-dimensional pieces that explored the interconnected relationship between people and the natural world.
“Artist research helped me understand layering and develop how people connect with nature. I researched Daniel Mountford’s double exposure photography, and in an attempt to recreate these digital edits physically, I turned to tracing paper work, experimenting with layering, which I then developed by using acetate and perspex. ”
